Taking flight requires trust and surrender, and it also requires setting a proper foundation. In this workshop we will explore the Bakasana-family and Koundinyasana-family arm balances that live atop Chaturanga. We will learn correct alignment for healthy and happy shoulders in Chaturanga and all Chaturanga-frame arm balances; develop the skills needed for lift off, and learn to troubleshoot the most common mistakes that keep us from flying; and hone our techniques for more technically proficient, nuanced poses.
Mira will lead us from the ground up. Learn how to properly do Chaturanga, set up for and skills to build towards and into Bakasana and Eka Pada Koundinyasana variations, and common mistakes and refine our alignment for more skillful and structurally sound postures.
This workshop is open to practitioners of all levels but is not recommended for students with current or chronic shoulder or wrist injuries.
